We are a mandatory uniform school every day including early release and assessment days. Student apparel should not distract from the educational environment therefore, every student at Homestead Senior High is required to wear a uniform.
The HSHS uniform consists of the following:
- School issued ID, must be worn around neck daily.
- Orange, Navy blue, and White collared polo shirt (short or long sleeve) Do not add additional colors to the uniform for “individuality”.
- Khaki pants, Navy Blue pants, or Blue Jeans – NO RIPS.
- Black belt – pants should be fitted around waist.
- Sweaters/jackets must be solid navy, blue, or white with NO BRAND NAME LOGOS except for school logo issued sweaters and jackets.
- HOODIES are permitted;however, hoods must not be worn over the head due to safety requirements.
In addition to the mandatory uniform requirement:
- NO workout clothes outside of Physical Education classes.
- NO shorts or skorts.
- NO skirts or dresses (unless Business Attire on designated days).
- NO written messages, pictures, or symbols displayed which portray ideas that are offensive, or threatens the health, safety, or welfare of students and/or faculty ( i.e., messages which relate to drugs, smoking, alcohol, sex, or profanity).
- NO visible display of undergarments (i.e. underpants or undershirts, etc.)
- NO mid-drift, cut off shirts or tying knots on back of shirts– NO exposed skin.
- NO Pajamas, onesies, or sleepwear.
- NO flip-flops, back-less sandals, house slippers, metal cleats, boots, stiletto-style heels. SNEAKERS and CROCS in sports mode ONLY.
- NO caps, hats, sweatbands, visors, bandanas, stocking caps/shower caps, du-rags, head scarves, or hair rollers.
- NO BLANKETS in school. Blankets will be confiscated.
- NO ELECTRONICS – (headphones, electronic games, etc). If visible during school hours 7:10-2:20 pm, including classroom and hallways, items will be confiscated and returned at a later time. Students may only use their cellphones/ear buds during lunch.
- Students may NOT leave spill out area until lunch is over and they are dismissed by staff. Cellphones/headphones must be put inside backpacks. Anyone walking through halls with electronics visible will have them confiscated.
If any of the above items are brought on school grounds and are lost or stolen from student’s possession, school administration is not responsible.
It’s a Matter of Pride! School colors are the only acceptable colors for outerwear. Sweaters and jackets must be plain navy blue, orange, and white without graphics unless they have the school logo.
Students are required to keep hoods off their heads and ID’s must be visible for safety reasons.
