Veterinary Science Magnet
Operation P.A.W.S.
This exciting new magnet program teaches veterinarians of the future. Students will be providing cutting-edge care to animal patients. Our veterinary medical lab and onsite dog park will provide students with hands-on learning opportunities in the health care and training of dogs. In addition, we will be partnering with the Humane Society to ensure all dogs who do not have an owner are adopted by a caring and loving family.
Nursing Magnet
Nursing & Health Sciences
Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) – Students will be able to enroll in coursework that will lead to licensure in practical nursing at the conclusion of the students’ senior year. As well as academic coursework, students will have an opportunity to complete clinical hours within the community. Additionally, nursing students have an opportunity to complete Dual Enrollment coursework that will lead to an Associates of Arts Degree upon high school graduation.
Medical Assisting
Students will be exposed to courses that prepare them for careers in the Health Care Industry. Some of the courses included are Basic Healthcare Worker, Medical Office Receptionist, Phlebotomist, EKG Aide, and Medical Assistant 1, 2, and 3.
Computer Game Development
Computer Game and Simulation
In the Computer Game and Simulation Program students will gain an understanding on how to develop computer gaming, identify various tools and equipment used to produce 3D animation, and utilize photo, video, and audio editing software in a state-of-the-art computer lab.
Virtual Reality Program
This program will teach students how to create computer generated content that will immerse individuals in an experience that feels real by creating a 360-degree digital environment. Learning Virtual Reality will put students on the cutting edge in developing programs in the entertainment industry, medical field, military training, and business.
Hospitality & Tourism Management Magnet (AOHT)
The program prepares students for management positions in multiple segments of the world’s largest service industry. Hospitality Management can lead graduates to a career in hotel management, restaurant operations, beverage management, real estate management, mega-event and festival management and sports management. Students can work and run cruise lines, airlines, resorts, hotels, restaurants, entertainment and sports venues, night clubs and all kinds of businesses.
The Building and Architecture Design Program
The Building and Architecture Design Program prepares students for careers in designing, planning, managing, and building residential and commercial properties. This is a hands-on program that will provide students with a Pre-Apprenticeship during their Senior year, sponsored by CareerSource. This program meets the growing demand in South Florida for skilled individuals as the demand for property development is rapidly growing.
Early Childhood Education Academy
Our early childhood education can lead to a variety of careers. Students earn industry certification in early childhood education to pursue licensure and become kindergarten or elementary school teachers; however, they also qualify for jobs in preschool education, childcare management, and education administration.
Culinary Arts
Make food that thrills your customers. You’ll not only build the core skills used by every chef; you’ll chart your own path toward a lifelong career doing what you love. Learn to prepare a wide variety of dishes, manage people, and use state-of-the-art equipment. You will also learn earn how to develop flavor, employ classic and contemporary culinary techniques, create menus, and prepare global cuisines. Lastly, you will gain knowledge of the food business industry with study in management, communication, and finance.

Performing Arts
Marching Band
The Bronco Marching Band performs at football games, pep rallies, community events, as well as State and National Competition. The band consists of instrument players, color guard, and dancers. The Bronco Band is one of the most recognizable performing groups in Homestead.
Dance
The Dance Program focuses on contemporary dancing. There is a beginning program, advanced program and competitive team. The competitive team participates in Local, State, and National Competitions.
Visual Art Courses
Ceramics
During this course students will be introduced to the history, chemistry, and freedom of making with clay. Students will learn and master the hand building techniques of coil, pinch and slab construction. Throughout the school year students will take home their functional 3D projects ranging from mugs, bowls and boxes that can be utilized as desired.
DE 2D Design/2D Art
This studio course introduces the elements of art including line, value, and color to develop a visual vocabulary and awareness of the two-dimensional potential of various media. Students will learn about various commercial art careers and develop an understanding of how design is utilized in advertising industries. At the end of the year students will have created their own portfolio that can be used to apply to art college programs.
Drawing
This foundational course develops one's ability to see, specifically observationally and perceptually. Visual exercises including line, shape, color, and value combine with personal expression to create a series of works on paper. Also, intuitive exercises will be used to dabble more conceptual approaches to drawing.
JROTC Air Force
The Air Force Junior ROTC program is grounded in the Air Force core values of “integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do.”
The program has more than 870 Air Force Junior ROTC units in high schools world-wide. There are more than 125,000 high school cadets in the program and more than 1,900 retired USAF instructors who lead, mentor, guide, and teach our cadets in high schools in the U.S. and around the world. Air Force Junior ROTC enjoys overwhelming school administration and community support because of the huge positive impact on cadets, schools, communities, and our nation. In many communities that have no military bases within many miles, the cadets and instructors of Air Force Junior ROTC are truly “The face of the U.S. Air Force in communities all over the U.S. and the world.”
